05-09-17 – VBS: Praise Worship

Praise Worship occurs twice in the VBS schedule of the day. The day starts with Praise Worship to get the focus on Jesus Christ and establish an atmosphere for worshipping God. That doesn’t mean constant prayer and sitting quiet and still. Far from it. God is an active God and so, too, can be our worship.

1. They sing many songs like “Jesus Loves Me”, and other songs familiar to them.

2. They sing songs that have motions that go with the words like “Pace Ca O Mare” (Peace Like a River.)

3. Sometimes they learn new songs like “He is King of the Jungle”.

4. The children are given the opportunity to recite from memory the bible verse from the previous day (or days).

Songs are led by energetic members of the VBS team. Here they are leading the song “My Head, My Shoulders, My Hands, My Heart.”

How about, “He is King of the Jungle,” a real favorite. See the crown?

Music is provided by team member(s) on keyboard, guitar, accoridan – what ever matches the skill of the teams members or host church..

Who wants to recite the bible memory verse?

This young boy recited the memory verses for the past four days!

At the end of the VBS day, children attend Praise Worship again to sing more songs, possibly perform a skit learned in Bible Study, share some activity from Crafts, recite more memory verses and to generally praise the Lord.

In show business, they say, “always leave them laughing.” At VBS we always want to have them leave PRAISING!

Next time, you will see some examples of a VBS Bible Study!
