06-13-17 – Other VBS Team Activities

Humanitarian

On the humanitarian side, the VBS team may visit host church shut-ins, or members who need special attention. The team may bring groceries, or other needed items, sing songs, and pray with them. It’s a ministry of “presence.”

Evangelistic

The host church helped arrange a visit to a nearby roma (gypsy) village.

The team taught some songs, and presented a bible lesson about sin. This happened on the main street (dirt) shared with hay wagons, tractors, horse drawn carts, and all sorts of occasional traffic.

How ’bout a full VBS program next year?

Cultural

The team leaders try to provide members opportunities to “play tourist” and visit or interesting places. For example, in Fagaras there was the opportunity to visit the Fagaras Fortress. Situated on a lake, it was never captured by enemy forces. Many displays and views of this historic site rank it on par with Hunedoara Castle.

Brancoveanu Monastery of Sambata de Sus is an historic monastery.

It is renowned for it’s painted glass and extensive museum and Academy.

Next time, learn some of the ways the children, the volunteers, and the congregation benefit from a VBS program.
