11-21-17 – TEN WAYS YOU CAN BE PART OF THE VBS PROGRAM THIS YEAR

The message in the church bulletin said,” Here’s your chance to be part of the Vacation Bible School Mission Team to (overseas country). We need people to go and people to stay behind, to support the team.

Look at this list below. Find where YOU fit in and sign up. “

Ways you can help your church Vacation Bible School (VBS) program

  • Go on a VBS mission trip with the VBS team.

  • Pray for the VBS team on a regular basis. Be a prayer warrior.

  • Help the VBS team to pack supplies and materials.

  • Help the team shop for necessary materials and supplies, try to get items donated.

  • Conduct training sessions for VBS team members.

  • Donate money and materials to the VBS program.

  • Assist with fundraising activities for the VBS.

  • Write news articles or give short talks publicizing the VBS program (local and church audiences).

  • Provide local transportation to and from the airport, train or bus, etc.

  • Help make or package materials to be used in the crafts program.

Only #1 and #6 require significant money to participate in the VBS program.

Only #3, #4, #9, and #10 require some physical ability, many can be one from a wheelchair, or just sitting, even if a person uses a cane or crutches.

That still leaves #2, #6, #5, #7, and #8 that could almost be done from a sickbed.

Did you notice there is no age requirement to help? If you can follow directions, there is a place for you.

Is your time limited? Some of the responsibilities on the list can be done when you have the time or can meet with others for a few hours, such as #3, #5, #8, and #10. Some of the items on the list fit in several categories.

Are you ready to say, ‘I just don’t want to do my part to help get the message of God and the love and joy of knowing Jesus Christ to the children of Romania (or you name the country)?”

Of course not!

YES – you can be part of the VBS team.

Look at the list again. There IS a place on the team for you.

Did I say, Sign Up NOW?

Tell your VBS team leader how you will help!

“Some of the most important work for the VBS team is done by the people who stay behind.” Warren Jaycox
